I have been a part of personality cafe for a short time, and have found the advice given here extremely helpful. I have been struggling with a particular issue and wish to sing the praises of those in the forums.
I was have trouble dealing with a male friend with whom I was interested in. When it became to handling conflict, either between us or external conflict that we were both involved in, he handled himself with calm, cool, logical reasoning. I on the other hand got emotional and a desire to end the conflict overwhelmed me. I was convinced that it was the INTJ personality type. That all INTJs must be like that. But the most helpful piece of advice that I had no t even thought of was this:
~Don't write off an entire personality type. Everyone is different within their type and you may be experiencing a personality clash~
I believe that him and I have a very large personality clash once things get deeper than light conversation with the occasional deep discussion.
Just because you may have a bad or very negative experience or relationship with a certain personality type (and you know that that personality type may be the ideal match for you either friendship wise or love wise), don't stop looking!
