HELP!! How do you remember what you read??

I'm an INFJ and I'm trying to get my masters in school counseling. But I have yet to actually read a text book? In my entire life...not even a chapter. I actually want to read, understand and impliment what I've learned, but the information isn't there after I read it. Not to mention I can't hold my focus there. I was wondering what some of you do to keep information in your brain instead of letting it escape through your ears...like me lol

    What book what subjects and question's is better asked through post in forums.
