when I was 7 I was a model for a family friend who is an illustrator. He used photos of me on a carousel as a basis for a little girl in his sculptures.

I went and interviewed him in October last year for an assignment and he offered me one of the sculptures, I was so lost for words and when I found them again all I could say was yes.

His illustrations are 3D sculptures which are then the photograps are used for the book illustrations.

every day I walk to the lounge room and see this little girl facing down a dragon and not backing down. Every time I see it it reminds me that whatever the day brings I need to face it confidently knowing that things are never as scary as they seem before you do them .It is a beautiful strong image to have of yourself, because although it is not realistic it signifies the little battles that I have won in life so far. I know there heaps of little battles to fight, and lots of little victories to win.
