Corrosive bleach people
Threaten to thin my skin
Burning flesh with their acid

A warm, benign breath amongst icy, malignant winds

The verse repeated itself in his head every time his metallic boots made contact with the damp ground, pools of water splashing with every step, frantic breaths visible in the unforgivingly cold night air.

"Please God save me..."

The blood pumped ferociously through his body, throat pounding and fingers throbbing. Twigs and thorns snagged at his calves, ripping into his skin through tattered trousers.

Cold, blue, and distant
Isolated and quiet
Serene and tranquil
Away from pother
Hustle, bustle, and bother
Far removed from maggot-infested streets
Where ant colonies conspire to take all the best seats
I walk not on eggshells but on the scrambled embryo within
I gaze around at perpetual night and can't help but to grin

Today the blue-hued ribbon has tinted the rainbow and tainted its motley
Leaving no room for other emotions to exude, just dullness and darkness
Too much milk in the coffee pales away the fresh acceleration
Outdone by grey shadow thoughts, I am weakened and bedridden
Grasping at straws and strings to make the numbness go away
They swabbed my soul with analgesic to send my aches away
Now there's tooth decay, and nourishment won't come as easy
