God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

.... Prayer of Serenity. It's for Alcoholics, but relative to the experience of every human being, as everyone has addictions and can be delusional about who they are and their capacity. Sometimes we try to jump over are knees. There are things we can change and there are things we can't. By being sincere, and understanding this simple thing, it initiates in you a completely different paradigm shift. You begin to not look to change others, but refocus your efforts on the only thing that you can. In doing so, you become the stimulus of change in others. People can't continue on the same way they have with you, when you are different. Your being will have an affect on changing their being. You hold up your own world, it shows people hold to hold up theirs.

Remember, be sincere with yourself. Even if you don't believe in God, you can still take from this the aim of self sincerity. You don't need to suffer over what you can not change, that removes a lot of distress and puts you on the path to extract from your experiences what can assist you in becoming what you aim to be.

I had that prayer tattooed on my arm 3 years ago, because I knew I was a person that wanted to control situations. Not the psycho type control--- but moreso, I over exert myself more and more especially when I know it's out of my control. But the stupid in me thinks even this, whatever it is, can be conquered. My overarching confidence sometimes dooms me.

I am my worst enemy and greatest ally. After being aware of that, I knew I needed wisdom.

I think many things can be conquered for sure and a person is supposed to push forward. But self sincerity is a difficult thing, as we don't want to think anything is out of our reach. But I often think the attention needs to be refocused, as I believe life responses to how we are inside. Become the change you want to see, and it may spread out all around to others.

Confidence isn't a bad thing, it's an inner faith. A lion has confidence when it walks through the jungle. Just has to be a honest confidence, that's the best and most conscious kind.
