Thank you for posting this. I've had the same experience in the irc channel. I've come in and just seen people bashing others and it really honestly made me sick...It's made me worried about what is said about me when I leave, and I know that is not the type of place you wanted PerC to be.

That's why I quit chatting in IRC. Too many two-faced cowards who talk shit behind other peoples' backs. Hopefully, they leave PersonalityCafe for good. This forum used to be fun.

They are probably talking about how this forum will fail once they leave. Sure it will. *sarcasm* This forum survived a year and will surely survive another year. Maybe even become more peaceful. ^_^ This whole drama has shown me who my true friends are. :)

If it makes anyone feel better to know, the times when I have visited the new IRC channel here, it has been peaceful and pleasant. They just got a trivia bot for when it's too peaceful, and some of us got a chance to try it out tonight. I'm planning to stay here, because Personality Cafe is my home, and it is where all of my friends are.

I know that some people say that words can't hurt, but they can persuade emotions into doing actions that can hurt.

For example, I don’t like it when a group is so tight that they automatically jump to their friends’ defence when a new person disagrees with their position. I think it’s cowardly behaviour. That sort of behaviour says more about *that* person than the one they are talking about. I find the varying personalities interesting, amusing and sometimes challenging, but I generally in a positive way. I don’t expect everybody to get along. Then again, I might be a ‘special case’. It makes me mad when people cause suffering t others, especially online. It's hard enough being scrutinised in real life. I used to have a profile on myspace where I would help out kids who got bullied (it was mainly cyber bullying victims, surprise surprise) and you wouldn't believe how much these kids had been screwed up by nasty comments, messages etc. People are like: all you have to do is press delete. But it's more complex than that. You can't erase what you have just seen, and moreover what you have just felt.
The Internet is a wonderful invention but it makes me mad sometimes. It just seems like another gateway for people to be cruel.

I was being sexually harassed and they guy continued the bullying over social networking sites...because he simply couldn't resist. It's just so easy to post an abusive message. It's not as tough as saying it verbally to someone's face.

This happens all the time. You shouldn't let it affect you so much.

Happiness is wonderful, adversity is necessary for self-growth- this is when we learn the most about ourselves- our strengths, our weaknesses and who our friends are. :)

Bullying happens on this forum, too, unfortunately.
