Ode to a Chocolate Monkey Head

i went walking
on the street
this summer night,
beads of perspiration
dotting my skin
and brushing it with the cool black breeze
soft calm
gently soaking me, me
walking along creaking my thoughtful knees
and behold I beheld a wonder
my feet strayed in! a bakery
wonder of wonders
here i saw a blueberry bun
there a sparkling glass bottle of elderflower drink
but you caught my eye and held it with your
O ...
chocolate monkey head
skewered on red plastic stick
smile your innocent bedeviled smile at me, yes, go, go on!
the dark rich lustre
of your brown chocolate head
is slick with anticipation, dear
i grabbed you then
your transparent wrap crackled
i do not remember if i paid. i probably did
and here you sit at home
silently smiling at me
on the wooden face of my motionless desk
O chocolate monkey head
your milky brow is smooth enamel
your brown dollop eyes beckon
your pink cheeks and nose rosy
as opaque cherry flavored cough medicine,
and cough medicine becomes you, dear
the delicate inner folds
of your ears so quiet!
blunt and delectably tinted
the sweetness of your mold belies you, dear
the indentations blythe
smooth and uniform with succulence
O chocolate monkey head
smile not that smile at me
my lips must near the flatness of your head
my first bite
comes after a lick, love
a lick of the edge of your gleaming brown ear
and it must be the summer night
you lilt and i don't remember when
my tongue must have lost your outline
your other ear also
melts seamlessly into my mouth
my teeth are encased in globules of you
O dear darling chocolate monkey mine
your head is now so earless
the roundness is astronautical
(i used to want to be an astronaut
my dreams were killed,
and i remember...)
now in anger
i snap your sticky forehead into my chomp
and you fill my mouth's roof
moment of foamy creamy wonder
the heft of your formless weight
gone..
you now look kind of like
a bald dude
with huge tufts of hair behind his ears
but you are still
adorable head
baby face milky monkey chocolate mine
so i think
i will eat
your left cheek
...i meet little resistance
oh how you crumble
liquidating in the summer night
sticky and swaying uneasily
as i type this ode to you, dear
your red stick held fast between my thumb and forefinger
you still smile milkily
your eyes are round and full
"do eat me," you chirp
so i eat
the upper right-hand portion
of the remainder of your head
i find
your white face
holds a subtle breakage
now for the left........
upper bit of your head
i skim off the bulk of you with teeth
the crevices i have smoothed
into your voiceless furrows
i smother with my teeth
now i bite off a bit
off the edge of
your right cheek
and now your face
left alone with no borders,
looks kinda like a teletubby
i lick you with
my tongue,
and your face glistens...
brown chocolate looks
charred and
tastes
rich ashy dough
flavored like chocolate
charles wallace too
my kiss on your face
your scent in my nose
so heady
thick! i bite and suck... in
thick! my teeth sink and suck... in
oh the back of your visage, love
your right eye
that dear brown circle
on my tongue, love, melting
oh you're still smiling at me!
chocolate lump no longer monkey head
your outline was once
no more
your expression now
is sweeter
than ever
and i now suck you in
i clamp you in my mouth
a bit of pull, the suction, sudden full...
and i'm left sucking at
the hollow red
plastic stick
O you were
an awesome chocolate
monkey head
