~No big differences these days. Just the same old walkways~
Counting Crows -Walkaways
Sometimes I want to fight.
I'm prone to spite.
Overwhelmed by an urge to smite.
A world of indignation is ready for my judgment.
Justice must be restored.
But then.. a small voice said.
There will be times in your life when you want or need to argue, confront, or even fight for something you believe in. So many people, however, argue, confront and fight over practically nothing, turning their lives into a series of battles over useless stuff that serves no cause other than to satisfy an ego or some bruised pride because you feel disrespected or insulted or because, you think you are more clever than someone else.
I have experienced frustration living this type of life.
The biggest crime is that you lose sight of what really matters.
To me, lately.
The truth seems so simple.
Life is rarely exactly the way we want it to be.
It doesn't matter how much control we think we have.
From one minute to the next, sometimes in one tenth of a second, things change.
Sometimes life will go your way, sometimes it doesn't or won't.
Sometimes things don't work out.
And here is the crux of it all;
There are always going to be people who disagree with you, who see and say things differently, who come to different conclusions looking at the same object or event.
This is life.
So if you fight this principle of "life", you'll spend your life fighting a legion of pointless battles against a horde of idiots who only want to bring you down.
Choose how you spend your energy.
Somebody you love might need it.
Toward the horizon.
