I wrote this in Nov 2007. Original post reminded me of it.

    Start It Up

    Better watch out
    they're evacuating people
    Asleep but their eyes
    Open, unaware

    Glassy-eyed loved ones
    better be warned
or tomorrow they're taken...one foot out the door

    One foot out the door
    Are you and your missus
I've seen how they do it
    With railcars and wagons

    Some people go
    Docile and willing
Others wake suddenly, wide-eyed and run

    I wouldn't be worried
    about alien encounters,
Ships swooping in, and things of the like

    These takers are humans
    Who've done their time gravely,
    Want the people to change
    From the bullshit abound
    Say goodbye to your life
So secure as you know it
    No more shopping in stores
As freakin big as a small planet
    you won't be taking
    your newspaper sportspage
Your bible, your TV, or even your hair

    No goodbyes are allowed
    so you'd better start
    loving
    like
    you
    mean it

this also one of mine from Nov.2007

    The Moment of the Hawk

    The bitter piercing air lapses
White clouds feathering the blue back drop
    And I become a hawk
    perched high above the highways
    on the unlit lamppost
    Warm mild air
ruffles my belly feathers as I'm energized
And I lift up to the sky.
    Strong muscles push
my light bones to the draft
    Upwinds next to mountains,
    Soaring free
    Pointed pines, blue azure sky

When my human ears hear music
    that touches my heart
    My soul ignites
and I become this hawk again

Bodies next to me pulse to the beat
but I'm zipping along the melody
    and nothing can touch me,
    harm me
    pluck me
    from this feeling of oneness
with the music of our time

    On a bad day
    I'm searching and searching
    for this feeling once again
    Floundering,
    Struggle
    bobble
    lurch
    Away from the crowd
Why can't I see the value of a hard day?
    Pummeled,
I trip and fall face-first to the gravel
The only sure thing I know
is to pick myself up again,
dust off the rocks embedded in my soft cheek skin

    Never yielding
    Always pushing forward
Holding the moment of the hawk close to my heart
    as I hope...
And am carried onward by the bitter piercing air

I understand you point of view. If I am right, you are concerned with the way people are getting stagnant. Only the crazy ideas are in circulation, and social media owns it. I myself look at people going to a place or an event just to post the event on facebook or some other website with a phone that has the camera pointed towards them snapping pics like that's the only use of it. Just as Steve-O said, it's the age of the selfie. But is there anything else other than that? I wonder, I'll have to travel a lot to find that answer, probably returning with an unsatisfactory answer to the question. Laziness is the result of lack of motivation. I was given an mp3 player when I turned 12, just so that I can stay mum. I ended up dismantling it later to find what plays the music in it. Same goes for Android devices. Some of the people are into bringing changes. I would mention Cyanogenmod and paranoid android as examples of these. Some people even consider cell phones as a way to keep a better check on their health. The technology is integrating within ourselves, how the integration will progress is a decision that lies with us. You seem to be an active thinker. I might be going a bit off-topic here, but your post is compelling enough to talk upon.

The primary issue is that the collective 'humanity' is primarily composed of sensors and feelers. They can only see what is immediately in front of them and cannot detach from their feelings, subjectivity, thoughts, desires, pains, pleasures to see themselves as a singular unit in the wave of humanity. Humanity is focused on outward achievement.

I believe Aristotle said that there's nothing new under the sun. All ideas have already been explored. Ideas in the material world have lots of exposure, but not those in the metaphysical or spiritual. It's time to give rise to a new generation of humans

Very intriguing post here. I agree, the majority are willingly flowing downstream to a waterfall of massive repercussions. We are being lead there by some that don't have our best interests at heart, dammed from the truth, and spoon-fed lies that are easier to swallow. Humans ARE lazy, disgusting, and smelly. I should know, I'm one of them. It's just so much easier to run a marathon on Netflix than on a race track.

A change is in order. Do I agree that a revolt is an inconvenience to me? No. I dislike my disgustingly ineffective corrupt infrastructure more than I like stroking my tv and smartphone. I'm all for changing the world, and I'm sure there are those who agree with me.

Do I agree that that change should involve war, hate, terror? Now no. A change is not so simple as being "huddled in a burnt-out building, clutching an AK-47 waiting to ambush a National Guard patrol." No, that's not a change. That's a continuation of what's been happening for 6,000 years. What do you think our army has been doing? They've been "huddled in a burnt-out building, clutching an AK-47 waiting to ambush a National Guard patrol." This is not Star Wars. This is not a Video Game. This is NOT SPARTA. You might argue, "But that's what's necessary for change, Pyah, grow some balls and take your gunpowder." It changes nothing. I won't lie and say I haven't lead an average (whatever stands for average these days) American life. But I'm sick and tired of hearing about war. It's been a constant in my life since the day I was born. Don't get me wrong, i'll do what it takes but i'd just prefer-

Let's make one thing clear: "creating awareness" is NOT to be confused with "half-assed activism". Let's not ignore the fact that "Individuals" make up the "People" you hate so much. Let's not forget that you can't have a movement without "People", the mob, the swarm, the uprising. The revolution we need- It takes "People" to get there. Let's remember that. Yes, "They’re loud. They’re moronic. They make -no sense- nonesofuckingever." True. But maybe we can change that by "creating awareness" *wink wink* Anyway, they're the majority and they make up the status quo. You're dream of being "huddled in a burnt-out building, clutching an AK-47 waiting to ambush a National Guard patrol" may be granted but you'll die without "People" on your side. You can't win without them, so wouldn't you rather have AWARE, intelligent "People" over the usual loud, moronic ones? And when you win, you'll be left staring at a whole bunch of "People" wondering what's next. Let's be smart about this. Let's start by "creating awareness", shall we?

Long reply to a long post.
