Are you an amateur photographer or thinking of becoming one?

Kinda sorta. I just shoot things i see. I have 35mm EOS, but all my lenses are broken. I had a point and shoot advantix, but that broke. I had an 8 megapixel sony, but something melted onto the CCD or somewhere in the optic while in my flight bag. Now, i'm using a junky 12 megapixel sony digital. Point and shoot but its extremely limited in what it can do.
I would like to get a Nikon point and shoot digital. This way i can mess around on a budget till i earn something better.
I don't know about camera settings. It something i want to learn, but i don't know where to begin and have alot of other things going on. It's on my "i'd like to someday" list.
For now, i just like looking at interesting photos.

As a Nikon user, I'd have to say that Nikon is definitely better. I have a D300 (and two lenses for it) as well as a P6000. My first camera was a Canon EOS 350D, it was alright but I much much prefer Nikon.

Good luck with your photographic journey! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun along the way.

Thanks. Well, I did start smaller with the Canon EOS 350D. After a couple of years I wanted something even more professional!
